I like to consider myself a very versatile artist with a lot of different talents!

I love making visuals, love VJing those visuals, love photography, and I'm pretty good at design. If you want to know more about me, look below!

The Story Thus Far

My name is Tristan Kennedy Irvine (hence TKi in TKiMedia). I currently work with Subphonic Events doing design, visuals, and VJing as a freelance artist. I had three great loves growing up; storytelling, film, and music. All played a vital roll in who I became as an adult. I have an extensive education in Film and Television, Visual Communications (Design), and Media Arts and Animation. I have spent my life taking in as much as I can to lead people down an interesting journey combining all my great loves of life.

I started doing short films in 2003 to 2008. Studying music production as well since I was 15 or 16. While making films I had a brush with Visual Effects thanks to Video Copilot. I absolutely fell in love with 3D and did a deep dive into creating as much as I could. Starting on Blender, 3DS Max, Maya, and eventually finding love in C4D. I started going to raves in 2010. In 2011 some one saw what I was doing with 3D and encouraged me to start making visuals for music. Through my studies in design and animation from 2011-2014 I would focus of making visuals for performances and shows. You can see my 2013 visualizer here I did with visionary artist Sara Huntley. In 2014 would start getting into projection mapping and VJing and doing my first show at Wormhole in Oakland. You can see my first projection mapping video here!

My Graduating Reel in DEC 2014

In 2016 I was living in sac and my life was full artist GO! Had a streaming channel, started doing shows, and had a lot of fun exploring the frontier of technology! You can see what I was up to here... In October was my first big show as a VJ working with Tim Manas for Beetlejuice Rave. We made a video for that here! In 2017 we did Plurality of Worlds 2, and I think that show really got me into Riddim and thinking about visuals differently. 2017 we hit the circuit with Zac Dollarhyde and did a bunch of amazing shows. Started doing 360 music videos and VR content. Then started working with Wormhole doing visuals. Then moved onto my first festival at Lucidity! Then Untz, my favorite Music Festival to date.

2018 was a big change for me as I finally met Subphonic Events. I met Dennis, Brandon, and Mike and they were the most chill guys. They wanted to go big or go home. They wanted to give a fair shot to everyone, and give locals an opportunity to grow. They absolutely cared and I was hooked. Regardless of any issues we've hard it's hard to break up a good thing. Subphonic has given me a huge space to express myself an grow. The trust has made me confident and willing to take the steps to invest in myself. I think we can all agree we've grown as a unit and have big things coming our way. Been riding that love and enjoying my work with Subphonic.
